Elisabeth Antoine was born and raised in France. She studied art in Paris under the direction of Agnes Tassin while working in the field of neuropsychology.
In 1998 Elisabeth left behind her medical career and moved to Maplewood, NJ with her family. While raising two children she began pursuing a career in art, choosing ELAN as her artist name. ELAN was drawn from the first two letters of her first and last name.
Elisabeth is passionate about art’s healing power as it allows people to express themselves, increase their self-confidence, and experience joy. Her goal is for people to explore and experience art in every aspect of their lives.
Today, Elisabeth teaches private art classes, paints murals, and shows her paintings in galleries and public venues in New York, New Jersey, and Paris. She also applies her artistic talent to food art and has co-authored a series of cookbooks.
Elisabeth lives and works in Maplewood, NJ. She has two children, now in college, Basile and Eloise. She enjoys hiking, cooking with her children, and trips to the ocean.
Elisabeth mainly paints and teaches in her home studio, but draws her inspiration from everywhere.
Elisabeth has two kids, Basile and Eloise, who she enjoys spending time with (when they can spare it)
Elisabeth believes in doing everything in life with passion, or it's not worth doing.
